Subtleties

Thinking this morning about the importance of discipline in the practice self care, and going back into old journals to reflect on my progression with it.

My body has been buzzing the past few days with a sense of overwhelm and the desire to do more ‘working in’ than out, i.e. gentle movement, writing, resting. I transformed this energy by going for an early walk, collecting some plants that appealed to me, breathing deeply and embracing the cool front that yesterday’s storms brought in. I feel infinitely more grounded when I am able to pause in the space of morning hours to be still, and take one task at a time. Drink water, get dressed, brew coffee. Eat slowly.

P.S. Happy full moon!
Subtleties of the human body. Influence of the less tangible. Do not discount the power of your proximity to water, exposure to sun or the night air. The aroma of green growth or closeness to those things and faces you love.

Thanks for the post and the reminder of taking it slow. Giving the day up to whomever you believe in knowing that it is in his/her control.
